GENERAL DENTISTRY

  • Tooth fillings are one of the most common dental treatments used to restore a tooth that has been damaged by decay or trauma. When a cavity forms in a tooth, it means the enamel has been eroded by acids produced by bacteria, leading to a small hole or cavity. A filling is used to "fill" this cavity, restoring the tooth to its normal shape and function, and preventing further decay.

  • Halitosis, commonly known as bad breath, is a condition where an individual experiences an unpleasant odor emanating from their mouth. It can be a temporary issue or a persistent problem. While occasional bad breath is normal, chronic halitosis can be a sign of underlying health problems. Fortunately, there are effective treatments available for managing and eliminating halitosis.

  • A porcelain crown is a type of dental crown made from high-quality dental porcelain, which is designed to cover and protect a damaged or decayed tooth. It restores the tooth's shape, strength, and appearance, making it look natural and blending seamlessly with your other teeth. Porcelain crowns are particularly popular for front teeth due to their excellent aesthetic qualities.

  • A dental abscess is a localized collection of pus resulting from a bacterial infection, often in the tooth, gums, or surrounding bone. Treatment focuses on relieving pain, eliminating the infection, and addressing the underlying cause

  • A root canal is a dental procedure to treat infection or damage in the pulp of a tooth. The goal is to save the natural tooth by removing the infected or damaged tissue, cleaning the tooth's interior, and sealing it to prevent further issues.

Same-Day
Dental Crowns

Same-day crowns (also known as a single visit crown) are created through an in-office process using computerized technology. After the tooth preparation, the dentist uses a computer (known as a CAD/CAM system) to create a customized digital impression of the mouth.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The most common question we receive is, "Does your facility accept my insurance?" If you have a PPO plan, which makes up 95% of employer-provided plans, the answer is YES. We accept PPO plans and will bill your insurance directly. You will be responsible for any applicable copay for your treatment. Cleanings and exams are generally covered at 100%, though frequency limitations may apply.

If you are covered by Delta Dental, Care First, or United Concordia, these plans do not pay us directly. Therefore, you will need to pay for your treatment upfront, and your insurance plan will reimburse you. We will still file the claim on your behalf to facilitate the reimbursement process.

  • No, Medicaid will not pay for services rendered at Calm. If you have a PPO dental plan under Medicare that has out-of-network benefits, then yes you can use it at Calm.

  • Yes you can. That is what it is meant for.

  • Yes, we partner with Care Credit and Lending Club offer zero-down-zero-interest financing to cover the cost of your initial appointment or any future appointments.

  • A dental exam and cleaning is a vital part of oral health care that helps prevent dental disease and improve the appearance of your smile. During a dental exam and cleaning, the dentist will Examine your mouth, Take X-rays, Clean your teeth, , Floss, Apply fluoride and Recommend dental treatments.

  • Educating patients about dental care promotes good oral hygiene, prevents dental issues, and empowers individuals to maintain a healthy smile.

  • Fluoride treatment is a common and effective procedure used in dentistry to prevent tooth decay and promote oral health. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps to remineralize enamel, the outer protective layer of the teeth, making it stronger and more resistant to decay.

  • Preventive sealants are a protective dental treatment involving a thin, plastic-like coating applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars and premolars). These teeth often have deep grooves and pits that can trap food and bacteria, making them prone to cavities (tooth decay). Sealants help prevent this by creating a smooth, protective barrier that shields the enamel from plaque and acids.

  • Oral cancer screening is a preventative procedure performed by a dentist or healthcare provider to check for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in the mouth, throat, and surrounding areas. The goal is to detect oral cancer early when it is more treatable and to identify abnormalities that may require further investigation.
